Varazdin

Varazdin is located in the north Croatia houses 50,000 inhabitants who are distributed in 10 villages. Climate that prevails is moderate continental.

It is recommended to visit the Vindija cave near Varazdin, in where you can find the best preserved remains of the Neanderthals in the world, aged about 30 000 years ago. Archaeological findings argue that the town has been inhabited since Roman times.

The most famous sight of Varazdin is the old fortress city and the seat of the Municipal Museum of Varazdin. Other well-known attractions include parish church of St. Nicholas, a former Jesuit church and today cathedral in Varazdin, Herzer palace and palace Patačić.
